What is a Conversion Rate?

Conversion Rate for your email or landing page is the percentage of people who take an action, such as registering for a webinar, purchasing a product, downloading content, or signing up for a free trial.

For an email the Conversion Rate is calculated by dividing the number of email recipients who took an action by the number of emails delivered and multiplying by 100. So if you have 100 emails delivered and 50 conversions (50 recipients who completed an action) your conversion rate is 50/100 x 100, which equals 50%.

For a landing page the Conversion Rate is calculated by dividing the number of visitors who took an action on the page by the total number of visitors to the page and multiplying by 100. So if you have 100 visitors to your landing page and 60 conversions (60 visitors who took an action) your conversion rate is 60/100 x 100, which equals 60%.
